What is Realism Microblading?
Realism microblading is a natural technique. It uses a handheld tool to etch fine hairstrokes into the upper layers of the skin.
This method is perfect for those with sparse or patchy brows, or even no brow hair at all. The result is fuller-looking eyebrows that closely mimic the appearance and flow of natural hair.
The technique is soft and delicate. It creates an incredibly realistic finish with minimal discomfort. Results typically last between 1–3 years.
The treatment involves two sessions. Your first session, which includes shaping and initial hairstrokes. And a top-up session 6–8 weeks later to perfect the results.

FAQ
Can Anyone Have Microblading?
The short answer is: no.
If you are under 18, pregnant, taking certain medications, or dealing with a serious medical or skin condition, extremely mature or oily skin, microblading may not be the best option for you.
Conditions That May Prevent Microblading
You should avoid microblading if you:
- Are under 18
- Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are undergoing cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, due to a high risk of infection
- Have a serious heart condition
- Have a blood clotting disorder
- Cannot lie flat for long periods
- Have epilepsy, as the lights and the procedure near your eyes may trigger seizures even after a long period without them
- Have a history of keloid scarring
- Experience hyperpigmentation caused by injury or inflammation
- Have skin conditions around the brow area, such as birthmarks, port wine stains, eczema, open skin, infections, severe acne, or lesions
- Are currently taking antibiotics or blood thinners
- Have HIV, Hepatitis, or another autoimmune disease
- Are using or have recently used topical steroids on the brow area, as the skin will be too delicate
- Have poorly-controlled diabetes
- Struggle with issues related to wound healing
Considerations for Mature, Oily, or Scarred Skin
Mature skin: Very mature skin may be too delicate for this procedure.
Oily skin: Very oily skin with large pores may not heal with crisp results and may show poor pigment retention.
Scars: If you have scars in the brow area, they must be at least 1 year old before microblading. Not all types of scarring respond well to microblading, and pigment may not retain effectively on scar tissue.
Alternatives for Deep Skin Tones
Deep skin tones: Microblading may not heal to a satisfactory visible result on deeper skin tones. In these cases, a powder brow may offer a more suitable option for long-lasting, beautiful results.
Do I Need To Have a Consultation/Patch Test?
Yes, you must complete a short online consultation form and a patch test before your microblading appointment.
Online Consultations:
Complete the short online form linked below and upload a photo of your brows. I will review the form and respond within 48 hours.
If you qualify for treatment, we will schedule your microblading appointment and arrange your patch test.
If you need the patch test posted to you, I can send it for a small fee to cover postage.

Face-to-Face Consultations:
The first 10 minutes of your appointment include a consultation. However, you may need an in-person consultation before booking if you already have previous microblading or SPMU.
I may charge for face-to-face consultations depending on the booking location.
(If you book a microblading appointment, I will deduct the consultation fee from the treatment cost.)
Get in touch if you feel an in-person consultation is necessary.
Does Microblading Hurt?
Microblading hurts much less than most people expect!
The procedure involves “two passes” to complete the brows. First, I draw the hairstrokes into the skin (first pass). Then, I go over them again (second pass) to fill them with pigment, making the strokes visible.
During the first pass, you may feel a sensation similar to threading or plucking 2–3 brow hairs at once. This step takes about 10 minutes.
I apply a pain relief solution before the second pass, so you won’t feel any discomfort for most of the treatment.
How Long Does the Appointment Take?
The microblading procedure usually takes around 3 hours.
We start by cleansing and inspecting your skin, and we take some before photos.
Next, we create your ideal brow shape using a special compass tool, carefully tailoring it to your unique facial features and bone structure.
We take our time during the shaping process, so this may take an hour or more – precision is key!
Once we are both happy with the shape, we begin the microblading procedure. After completing the procedure, we give you a full aftercare kit and instructions before you leave.
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Your skin type and lifestyle play a major role in determining how long your microbladed brows will last.
For most people, microblading lasts 2–3 years before they need a color boost.
What Do I Need To Know Before the Appointment?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, fish oil supplements, and any blood thinners for 24–48 hours before your appointment.
The healing process lasts around 28 days. During the first 7–10 days, avoid makeup, getting your brows wet, and using saunas or sunbeds.
I will provide you with a full aftercare kit and detailed instructions, so you know exactly what to expect and how to care for your new brows when you leave!
Can You Make My Brows Identical?
Ever heard the saying, “Brows are sisters, not twins”?
As your microblading artist, I aim to improve and enhance your brows to complement your natural beauty.
I will do everything I can to make your brows appear as balanced and symmetrical to the human eye as possible, but it’s important to maintain realistic expectations!
It’s not possible to make your brows completely identical. In fact, no two sides of your face are identical, so creating identical brows wouldn’t look natural.
If you start with very asymmetrical or “wonky” brows, there are limitations to what I can achieve. In extreme cases, I may recommend Bot*x to correct the asymmetry before performing microblading.
What Happens After My Treatment?
Immediately after your treatment, your brows will look bolder than usual—about 30% thicker and 50% darker than the healed results. Don’t panic; this is completely normal.
Over the next few days, your brows may darken slightly as your skin begins to heal.
Avoid getting your brows wet or applying makeup to the area for the first 7–10 days.
Around days 5–14, you may notice some flaking or shedding of the skin near your brow area. Let this flake off naturally and avoid picking, as this could pull out the pigment and increase the risk of scarring.
As the top layer of skin flakes off, the pigment may temporarily disappear. This is totally normal! A thick layer of protective skin creates a veil over the pigment.
Once your skin completes a full regrowth cycle (4–6 weeks), the pigment will typically reappear. However, it will look about 30–50% lighter than it did immediately after the procedure.
That’s why I schedule a 4–6 week touch-up session to perfect your brows.
Can You Cover/Refresh Existing Microblading or PMU?
If another artist has performed microblading or semi-permanent makeup on you before, you must inform me before your appointment. I may need to arrange a face-to-face consultation.
Your previous microblading must be significantly faded (at least 70–80%) and have an acceptable shape for me to work over or correct it. I will only perform cover-ups if I believe the results will look beautiful and maintain good longevity over time.
Correcting or touching up another artist’s work is not always possible. In such cases, I will recommend removal.
How Much Does it Cost?
I charge £250 for your first realism microblading session and £50 for the touch-up session 6–12 weeks later.
Afterward, I price color boosts based on consultation, depending on the level of fading.
If you wait until the shape of your brows has completely faded before booking a color boost, I will consider this a new treatment and price it accordingly.
Please note that pricing is subject to change.
